many women, you dream of making big money of your own, you probably realize
that playing in the big leagues is different from the usual small time money
making deals. Applying for tenders and contracts and winning could set you up
for life. The stakes, of course, are high and it will do you well to remember
that old saying, “Fortune favors the bold.” Gather your guts and pull yourself
up by your bootstraps if you are determined to win. This is not the time for
ifs and buts. Here are few tips on how to get started and of course, there are
bounds to be one or two pitfalls, which should challenge you to overcome them.
Develop expertise
It is an
open secret in third world countries that there are only three ways to succeed.
First, you need to know important people for connections. Secondly, you should
be highly educated, and third and most important, you should be an expert in
what you do. The third option is the most important for those have neither
connections nor doctorates. When you are an expert, your work speaks for you.
The demand for your services will supersede you. Become an expert by developing
passion for what you enjoy. Do it from your heart without giving up. You can
develop expertise to a very high level in any field. Once you have a name, your
foot will already be in the door. Your path to a good income starts with how
well and consistently you apply your talent.
Be audacious
Once you
are confident of your knowledge, it is time to start becoming daring. Take
risks and create for yourself a larger than life image. Write good proposals to
organizations and convince them that your idea will make money or improve the
way they work. Charge highly for your work so that they can believe that they
are getting the best. Insist on meeting key people and develop s strategy for
doing so. Try to get introductions as much as possible. If all else fails,
gather courage and start paying courtesy calls. It will help your chances if
you appointments, but sometimes, cold calling works. The key is to look and act
important whenever you visit offices. Carry your business cards in a special
holder and use a somewhat grandiose titles when introducing yourself. Remember
that titles matter anywhere in the world, so do not forget to include Esq. and
Dip after your name. it will make a huge difference to your business if you
have an office somewhere even if it is one hourly lease rooms.
