Abduba Dida loses bid to stop TV presidential debates
The presidential candidate of the Alliance for Real Change, Mohammed Abduba Dida, has lost a bid to stop presidential debates which are supposed to be televised live on TV.
Judge John Mativo today ruled that Mr Dida’s petition had no merit.
Mr Dida wanted the debates stopped arguing that categorising the contenders for the top seat in the August elections was unfair and prejudicial.
The debates are to be organised for candidates divided into two categories - those who have already garnered over five per cent popularity in opinion polls and those who have not.
